4% Company Match Opportunities for Advancement Job Description Assist Slitter Operator in setting up machine in actual operation and general production Observe incoming steel coils for proper quality and note any problems.
Including production run problems Communicating with supervisors, peers and subordinates.
Note any equipment problems or deficiencies , including safety issues Assist main operator by analyzing production operations and making suggestions for improvements Make sure coils are read to be loaded onto slitter Requirements:
Concentrate on slitting (Production & Quality is the key) Check coil thickness at head, mid & tail ( Note on QC reports) Crop and Heavy ends Note any bad coil characteristics (crossbow, camber, edge wave, etc.
) or slitting issues ( width or edge trim problems etc.
) on QC reports Print tags and label slit coils Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required Lift 75 lbs.
10% of the time Sit 10 % of the time Standing 90% of the time Walking 50% of the time.
Must be able to operate Forklift, Side-Lift and Overhead Crane is preferred but not required.
Environment:
Job requires outdoor work and indoor in all weather conditions with extreme temperatures.
Majority of work is done indoors in a heated area.
This position is an entry level opportunity to learn and grow in a top rated, high functioning machine shop with many chances of advancement.
