Job Details Level Experienced Job Location Lindon-Shop - Lindon, UT Position Type Full Time Education Level Not Specified Job Shift Any Job Category Skilled Labor - Trades Description Employee Value Proposition Working for a world-class leader in building structures and bridges, a Schuff Steel Cleaner Painter brings his/her expertise and knowledge in the commercial painting field to prep and paint some of the most complex and high-profile projects in the commercial building, bridge, and industrial sectorsCritical to the production process this position cleans and paints a large variety of materials by standard operating proceduresThe cleaner painter utilizes a high degree of proficiency while utilizing full skills of the trade including knowledge of commercial cleaning and painting standardsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorilyIn return, the Company will offer competitive market-based compensation and comprehensive health insurance benefitsWe are committed to professional development and growing our businessWe are looking for a professional with a growth mindset who desires a progressive long-term careerCore Responsibilities Operation and maintenance of all applicable equipmentEvaluate surface preparation to assure accuracy and compliance to SSPC CodesApply coatings to wet mils necessary to achieve the dry mils required by the job specificationsKnowledge of different types of coatings and application methodsKnowledge of Environmental rules and regulationsUse of grinders, chippers, sanders, and overhead cranes as neededRead and layout work orders or receive instructions from the supervisor regarding cleaningReading piece mark numbersNeed to know SSPC CodesKeeps work area organized and cleanPerform other routine duties per management directionMust adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements Education/Training/Work Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceSpecialized Knowledge - Certificates & Licenses Equipment Knowledge & Skills - may include but not limited to hand blasting, machine blasting, sprayer and air compressorLanguage Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsMathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureReasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:
